Our Minister and Staff
Reverend Nic Cable is our newly settled minister who moved to Columbus in July 2017. He has previously served congregations in Michigan and Minnesota, as well as the Unitarian Universalist Association.
Deborah is an experienced educator, a yoga teacher, and she is committed to the spiritual and social development of children. She loves the outdoors and crafting adventures for children. She really does embody the spirit of play that is at the heart of Unitarian Universalist religious education.
Heather’s chief areas of responsibility are communication and maintaining the records of the congregation. She works half-time and manages the monthly newsletter, the Friday reminders, our church database, and regular website updates. She also serves as the initial point of contact for most inquiries. UUCCI Minister Emeritus, Rev. Dennis McCarty, served our Congregation for 12 years, from 2003-2015, and was our first full-time Minister. During his time here, our church changed and grew. Richard was part-time minister when we were the Columbus UU Fellowship, 1989-1997, and helped move us toward becoming a full-time UU congregation. He retired in 1997 to lead the contemplative independent scholar life, and has been happily doing so ever since. He now lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with his wife Susan.
