Columbus Hijab Day was held at Viewpoint Books on Saturday, March 4 from 11am to 2 pm. During this drop-in event, people learned more about Islam by asking Columbus residents who are Muslim. They tried on a scarf in hijab fashion which they could take home with them. There were snacks and coffee at this educational event in a friendly, relaxed environment. The event was co-sponsored by the Islamic Society of Columbus Indiana and UUCCI.
“When strangers meet, endless possibilities emerge: New experiences, new ways of understanding, and new ways of taking action. When strangers meet, each pays special attention to the other. Each is called to serve something larger than the self.
Today, this morning, let’s light the chalice: For openness, for willingness to grow, for rich curiosity, and for common purpose.” — Rev. Fulgence Ndagijamana
What a wonderful day of sharing and learning Saturday at Viewpoint Books. Thank you to all the women of ISCI and UUCCI who put it together.
